John and Myself (Laura) are both in our 50's and have been married for 36 years with 3 grown up children, Kathryn , Nicola and Zachary, and 2 granddaughters.

We have been French residents since July 2008 and love our life here, where family is everything, Politeness is a way of life and kindness and gentleness are seen in everyone you meet. John has dedicated 10 years to faithfully restore and renovate the 800 year old Manor and Gite to a high standard.
|Year property purchased||2003|
|Why this location?||In 2003 we fell in love with le Manoir de Rimbard because of its history and could see its potential. Although in a semi derelict state we were lucky that many of the classic French Manoir features were still standing. For example: the chapel, the bread oven, dove cote, stables and gatehouse. These are arranged around a central courtyard.
During the renovation process, we were delighted to discover two intact and original fireplaces. The 500-year-old oak and ash spiral staircase (now fully restored) is one of many outstanding features of the Manor.
John has dedicated 10 years to faithfully restore and renovate the 800 year old Manor and Gite to a high standard, and I have been able to full fill a life long ambition to be creative with interior design.
We love meeting new guests, and take a real pleasure from the knowledge that they are enjoying their stay with us.
Many of our guests have said that they appreciate having John and myself close by.
