|Why this location?||We chose this location due to the beauty of the area with the river the magnificent 19th Century Viaduct linking the Communes of Le Vigeant and L'isle Jourdain, the pleasant walks, bike rides and friendly community with a healthy mix of French and English speaking residents. For a small town L'isle Jourdain is thriving and has an active tourist trade in the summer with waterskiing, fishing, kayaking, zip lining, tree climbing adventure tours, mountain biking and bungee jumping!! With 5 restaurants in the near vicinity there is a good selection of eating options within walking distance and many more within short drives to neighbouring towns. Airports of Poitiers or Limoges are just 1 hour drive away.|
|Unique benefits of property||Maison La Roche is situated a stones throw from the river, with a restaurant bar 200m walk from the property and another restaurant just down the hill on the river, it is a short walk from L'isle Jourdain town centre. Maison La Roche offers peace and tranquility within walking distance of many facilities such as a supermarket and post office etc in L'isle Jourdain. Maison La Roche has a private orchard which is fully fenced and ideal for relaxing in the sun and take a dip in the plunge pool to cool off. We have a resident Donkey nearby who enjoys carrots or apples from visiting guests. A short walk down the path to the river where Anglers can chance their luck, it seems popular with many locals. Maison La Roche is ideal for couples and is dog friendly by prior agreement. It is suitable for small to medium, well behaved dogs that will not be left unattended in the property (we will help out with dogsitting where possible please discuss your needs with us).|
Zip Lining across the river Vienne under the magnificent Viaduct or Bungy Jumping off it are highly recommended for the more adventurous holiday maker. The same company also has climbing stations throughout the surrounding trees of the river which is a great activity for both kids and adults.
Kayak the River Vienne from the nearby town of Moussac, highly recommended!!
Learn to waterskii on the river.
