Cour des Mirabelles is a private, spectacular and renovated 18th century property located in Montolieu. The property's long history includes being a winery.
Montolieu is a picturesque village at the foot of the Black mountains (Montange Noire) in the heart of the Aude in the south of France (Languedoc-Roussillion)
The village has about 900 inhabitants and is famous for its artist studios and many antiquarian book shops simular to Hay-on-Wye in England, Redu in Belgium and Bredevoort in the Netherlands.
The village has a bakery, a small supermarket, a wine shop, a medical practice and pharmacy, as well as a village pub and 3 restaurants. All are within an easy few minutes walk from the property.
Montolieu is a mere 15 minutes car ride from the splendid and bustling town of Carcassonne with excellent shopping, sights and attractions including many summer festivals and, of course, the famous ancient medieval old city of Carcassonne, a few minutes away from the modern town.
Cour des Mirabelles features a large house and 2 adjacent cottages situated in a large (2000 square meters) completely walled-in garden.
The house can be rented separately or together with 1 or 2 cottages at a reduced price.
If the house and 1 cottage are rented the second cottage will stay vacant.

Scullery with extra refrigerator and washing machine.
Two spacious living rooms. The first with TV, the second features sitting area, dining table and fireplace.
Ground floor bedroom with double bed.

Central heating and auxillary heating in the bathrooms.
TV and a DVD player, audio equipment, CD's, some english books and a variety of board games.
The garden offers quiet and privacy and is partly shaded by mature trees. There are several sunbathing areas, several sitting areas, a large swimming pool, an outdoor shower, a swing, garden furniture and a barbeque.
Outdoor table tennis and darts.
Parking is included in the property.
The property is not suitable for wheelchairs. Pets are allowed.
Three cots and 2 high chairs are available.
Linen and towels are provided (no large bath towels).

About us. <br/>The Cour des Mirabelles property is owned by three couples, Ben and Lizelotte Bakker, Jan and Cécile Koudstaal and Miel and Janneke van Tilburg. We are friends for a long time. We are all retired now. In our working lives we were respectively professor of economics, director, artist, ICT analist and 2 of us were medical doctor.

The splendid and historical town of Carcassonne is only a 15 minutes car-ride away. Carcassonne is famous for its medieval old city , a few minutes from the modern town, with excellent shopping, sights, museum and attractions, including many summer festivals.
Nearby in the village there are 3 very nice restaurants
The mediterranean coast can be reached within 40 minutes, and the Pyrenees and Andorra in 2 hours.
The Spanish border is about 1 hour drive, and in less than 3 hours you reach Barcelona, and Figueras.
Other interesting sights include Narbonne, Beziers, Montpellier, Nîmes and Arles, the Canal du Midi and the many remnants of Cathar castles.
