About this property

Seaside Holiday Villa Metres from Sandy Med Beach. This villa is in a coastal town setting.

No need for a swimming pool here!
Our seaside villa is located in a calm quarter overlooking a stunning panoramic view of the Mediterranean and Pyrenees. It is just a short stroll (600 metres) from the safe sandy beaches of St Pierre la Mer and Narbonne Plage; both of which have lifeguards in season. It is situated on the French Mediterranean coast, some 50 miles from the Spanish border. Bbq and relax with a bottle of local wine in the garden as you watch the sail boats drift by. Within easy reach of several budget airlines or driveable. All utilities and bed linen included.

The region has an average daily sunshine of over 10 hours per day during June, July and August. The property has a magnificent view of the Mediterranean, in a quiet location and is within easy walking distance of the small town with it's sandy beaches and waterside restaurants and bars.

The villa is located a short walk from the beach and town centre where there are many good restaurants to choose from. The villa is very well equipped with every amenity (washing machine, dishwasher etc). It has wonderful sea views and secluded patio/garden. We have always found it to be spotlessly clean & very comfortable - "home from home" - including English tv programmes. From our first visit in 2013 we have been made very welcome by Marian and John who were always available if needed, and hopefully we will visit again in 2016. We would thoroughly recommend this villa.

Our family stayed at this lovely villa in July 2016 and loved the spectacular sea views and secluded garden. It was within easy walking distance of the beach and local town which has good, affordable restaurants and a fantastic daily open air market. The villa was clean and well equipped (washer/dishwasher machine, bbq etc). Once there, we put the car away and relaxed! John and Marian were very helpful and always available for advice when needed. We would thoroughly recommend this villa and have no hesitation awarding it a 5 star rating. We are planning to go back again next year.

Our first visit to the area and our accommodation was all we were hoping, the location was excellent, the property was very clean & well equipped & had everything we needed for a very comfortable holiday. We received excellent customer service over and above what we have experienced in the past. We would definitely recommend this property.

About the Owner, Mr John Sadler

We are retired and spend the summers here with our families and grandchildren.

Year property purchased 1995
Why this location? We fell in love with this region in the 1980s during our annual summer holidays with the children. This was before budget airlines and it had the great advantage that it was driveable!

It is in a quiet location and is within easy walking distance of the small town of Sainte Pierre la Mer with it's sandy beaches, restaurants, bars.

The Owner Recommends

Out and About

Recommended restaurants will be found in the house folder. Two smallish supermarkets in St Pierre are open 7 days a week in season. Hypermarkets at Gruissan (8Km) and Narbonne (14Km). St Pierre is a well kept secret by the French - this is where THEY go on holiday! In addition to being a superb beach resort, it is also a great location for sporting activities. There is windsurfing/kite surfing, fishing, tennis, horse riding, mountain biking or walking in the Massif de la Clape (a beautiful natural park with rare orchids and exotic birdlife in the immediate vicinity). There is a traditional daily market and a wide selection of waterside restaurants, bars and cafes. There is a fairground (in season) and disco(s) in the town. Free open air evening entertainment is provided by both St Pierre and Narbonne Plage municipalities. Numerous local vineyards offer the ever popular wine tasting. This is historic Languedoc, the land of the Albigensian crusade and the Cathars. Their picturesque fortress castles can provide an enjoyable diversion from the sunshine beach and sea holiday. The fortified village of Minerve, the heart of the Minervois wine region is well worth a visit. Carcasonne is a splendid restored medieval city; hence it is popular with tourists, if a little crowded in season. Montpellier, the birth place of Western medicine, is a beautiful city and has a medical museum. Spain is about an hour away by car and just over the border Figeures, home of Salvador Dali, has an exhibition/mausoleum dedicated to him.
