A spacious and tastefully renovated home with private swimming pool, located in the serene village of Ferrals-les-Corbieres, between Narbonne and Carcassonne, in the South of France. Domaine de Graffan is more than just a rental property. This is home from home in the most wonderful of villages in the Corbieres region.
Following extensive renovations, the house easily accommodates two families or a large group of friends. It has a wonderful feeling of space and the two staircases at either end of the house ensures a certain level of privacy amongst guests. A lot of time has gone into choosing the colours and tones in the house to ensure a relaxed ambience is enjoyed in each of the rooms. We care about the small things that can often make a holiday but can so often be overlooked.

The house sits in the midst of the beautiful, friendly, quiet village of Ferrals-les-Corbieres. The village has a boulangerie, a small but very well stocked village store, a Tabac and Post Office, a michelin rated restaurant and another bar/restaurant.
Before buying Domaine de Graffan we spent many years visiting family in the area. We very often found that large properties with extensive landscaped gardens were enjoyed at the expense of their location. With large family groups or amongst friends, one needs not to have to get in the car to go for bread, a glass of wine, a restaurant meal, a pizza takeaway, to play tennis/football or visit the local supermarket….and most importantly the local wine cave!
When we found Domaine de Graffan, its location within a village was a real selling point for us. The locals are extremely friendly and the village centre is a hive of activity in the morning and sleepy in the afternoons, affording the peace and quiet we so often crave and need while on holiday. The local wine cave is literally opposite the gated entrance (and was once part of our Domaine). This carries a good range of local wines now marketed under the D’Orfee name – combining the local Caves of Ferrals and Ornaison since 2008. Infact the Graffan 2009 Rose is an award winner. They will be delighted to host a tasting in July and August for the summer guests.
The annual village fete is a four night party held in the village with live music and fair ground rides for the youngsters. This is usually the weekend around the 25th August and for the guests of that week it provides a real taste of French entertainment!
The tracks through the vineyards are open to all and provide miles of biking, running and walking with breathtaking views and provide an easy 20 minute off road route to the next village of Fabrezan where there are bars/restaurants and the local Pharmacy…all this before you even venture out in the car to explore the other beautiful villages and ancient towns of the Corbiere!
The kitchen and utility rooms provide exactly what you would expect to find in your own home and both are fully serviced, with all the pots and pans to cook up a culinary delight. There is sufficient crockery and glassware for all guests and even others you invite for dinner!
There is a dining table, seating 10-12 (at a push!) in the dining room and outdoor furniture for al fresco dining in the summer months.
Downstairs there is a large living room with comfortable sofas and armchairs and a wonderful leather recliner for ultimate relaxation! There is also a Grand piano for those with talent – either hidden or practiced.
The second sitting room, known as ‘The Snug’, is a smaller cosier room. Perfect for reading the paper, taking a nap, or simply having some quiet time.
The dedicated children's room is stocked full of things to keep the children entertained and furnished with a lovely big leather sofa.
This homely property offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 bedrooms. Comprising 4 doubles and two twin rooms. The smaller twin room is more suited to children and can be interconnected to the master bedroom, if required.
The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and two bathrooms service the other 5 bedrooms. There is also a wc on the ground floor.
Often everyone ends up using just one shower…the best one! Here at Domaine de Graffan all three showers have been replaced in recent years and have been commented on by guests and friends alike. There is a also a big roll top bath in the en suite bathroom for piling in the little ones en masse!
There is a dedicated playroom for our younger guests which includes a tv with a huge range of dvds, table football, a games machine with over 180 games, a small rocking horse for our very small and precious guests, and some of the most favoured board games.
The main living room boasts a 55" Smart tv for guests to log in to Netflix or Amazon Prime using their own accounts and, for the more musical of our guests, the grand piano offers much entertainment!
The south facing garden has a large terrace for alfresco dining and sunbathing. The pool and terrace are both easily shaded by the plane tree that centres the garden, a welcome shade in the heat of the day. There is also an additional terrace area home to the ping pong table.
There is secure gated parking and plenty of room for 3 cars
Domaine de Graffan is a perfect holiday home for two families or families with grandparents to share. It is equally suited to a large group of friends and is intimate enough for one family.
Hi I'm Nicola. We recently purchased this beautiful property and due to its charm and wonderful location, we are keen to share it with people who will love it and care for it like we do. It's the perfect large house for multiple families or groups of friends who want the luxury of walking to the local restaurants and shops and not having to rely on the car.

|Why this location?||Before buying Domaine de Graffan we spent many years visiting family nearby. We often found that larger properties with expansive landscaped gardens were enjoyed at the expense of their location. With large family groups, one needs not to have to get in the car to go for bread, a glass of wine, a restaurant meal, a pizza takeaway, to play tennis/football or visit the local supermarket….and most importantly the local wine cave! And this is exactly the reason we chose to purchase Domaine de Graffan. The house is a real home with a relaxed feel and its location of the edge of a wonderful and vibrant village makes it the perfect holiday destination for those wanting to sit back and relax or those eager to explore.|
