About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Pamela Farmer

I am retired and live partly at the property and partly in Hampshire with my husband and our border terrier. My son and daughter and the grandchildren love coming to La Fontaine. I speak French and enjoy interacting with our French neighbours and walking in the beautiful countryside around the village.

Why this location? Beautiful views of Pyrenees from terrace. Guaranteed summer sunshine. Wine growing area and unspoilt countryside around us. Access to the sea, the mountains, Canal du Midi and historic Carcassonne, Limoux and Mirepoix. Great for walking, running and cycling with little or no traffic to contend with. Also easy access to motorway - 15 mins - for trips further afield to Toulouse, Montpelier or into Spain across Pyrénées. Large lake with sandy beaches and water sports at Cavayere just outside Carcassonne.

Beautiful property with the most magnificent view. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Everything was there that you could possibly need. Pool was perfect. Lovely walk to next village cross country to a little restaurant is well worth doing. Takes about 45 minutes. Truly beautiful scenery around the house like being in a Van Gogh painting! We would definitely go back.
