The Owner Recommends

Grain d'Ici

Our local shop sells fresh bread and groceries, but also does excellent coffees and caters for events. Run by an enthusiastic local couple, it is the place to pick up your croissants and other breakfast essentials.

Canal du Midi

This World Heritage Site is just a 5 minute drive from Le Fort at Le Somail. You can take a boat trip, charter a boat or enjoy a leisurely lunch or walk along the canal.

Carcassonne

This World Heritage Site is a famous Cathar stronghold that has been dutifully restore to within an inch of its life. It gets very crowded in summer, but is well worth the effort. Breathtaking setting surrounded by mountains, with many little terraces and restaurants to unwind after your tour of the fortifications.
