It is perfectly situated, to explore the numerous breath-taking chateaux, the relaxing Canal du Midi, medieval market towns of Lagrasse, Mirepoix and Alêt- les-Bains to name but a few and not forgetting the gorgeous Mediterranean coastal areas, Narbonne being accessible within 45 minutes and just a little further to Gruissan and it's expansive beaches, or head down south to the stunning Collioure, inspirational views and famous with the impressionist painters. Continue along the coast and beyond towards the Spanish border...in just a 3 hour drive you can be in the city of Barcelona!

Although La Remise is situated in the countryside it is easily accessible to Carcassonne airport, train stations at Bram/Carcassonne and A61 motorway to Toulouse.
What better way to explore the serenity of the Canal du Midi and wonder at the amazing system of waterways and their accompanying locks, by taking an organised trip with tour guide for 1 or 2 hours slowly meandering along the Canal and drinking in the atmosphere.
Ten minutes drive to the peaceful lake, ideally situated within a natural wooded environment which contains a picnic area, restaurant /cafe, walking/cycling trails and swimming or just relax in the sunshine.

The old city of Carcassonne is the largest and best conserved medieval fortress in Europe.
