With 8 acres of grounds theres plenty of space for everyone. Favourite spots are the walled pool garden with an 11m heated pool and the new boules garden with - of course - a boulodrome. Terrace area and gas and charcoal barbecues.

The shady willow garden is enclosed and overlooks a pretty pond stocked with koi carp and all around the grounds you can find seating areas where you can enjoy morning coffee or a sunset aperitif.

Visitor suitability

There are uneven steps around this 500 year old mas, so it may not be entirely suitable for the very elderly. Le Grenier is on the first floor.

The layout of the gites and the nature of the mas make it most suitable for children over the age of 16 although we welcome children of all ages when all three gites are booked together.

Information about any additional facilities

We have a spectacular Roman style inner courtyard where we can host a wine tasting evening for groups on request. A small shop stocks home made jams and chutneys and basic essentials such as milk, butter, rice and of course beers, wine and ice cream. Our library is well stocked with local information and our electronic welcome book lists plenty of places to go and things to see and do along with restaurant recommendations.

Bikes are available free of charge but we do advise serious cyclists to bring their own. Secure storage is available.

Tumbledryer and washing line available for guests.

On Sunday nights we host a relaxed and informal welcome supper for guests, using locally sourced produce wherever possible. Always a fun night!

About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Kate Langley

Graham and I arrived here in 2017 after many years living around the world. Today the Mas is a family home to us, our 11 rare breed chickens, two dogs and occasional grown up children who may be visiting.

Year property purchased 2017
Why this location? It's bang in the middle of everything you could possibly want - culture, wine, walks, cycling, Roman antiquities and a choice of amazing cities.

Set below the ramparts of Lussan, one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France, this ancient mas has been sympathetically restored to offer three beautiful self catering gîtes set around a Roman style courtyard.

The grounds are extensive, with landscaped gardens, pool, boules court, barbecue terrace, and several acres of fields. From here you can walk straight out into the garrigue beyond. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the views or spot the wildlife and with a maximum capacity of just 10 guests there is always a quiet spot to be found.

In the heart of the Gard Provençal we are ideally located. With easy access to the Cevennes and Ardeche for lovers of outdoor activities, and close to the Mediterranean coast and to the historic towns of Uzès, Avignon, Nimes and Montpellier there’s something for everyone.
Unique benefits of property Location - walk to Lussan and try one of its four restaurants. Tranquility - with 8 acres of grounds there's always a quiet spot. The high level of comfort in all our gites.
Every care has been taken to preserve the charm and character of the buildings and each gîte has its own rustic style, with exposed stone walls or vaulted ceilings, ancient beams and terracotta floors.
Comprehensively equipped with everything you could possibly need, the gîtes offer quality beds and linens, fully equipped kitchens, iPads, Bluetooth speakers, books and games – everything you are likely to want to make your stay an enjoyable and comfortable one.
Weekly welcome supper with seasonal and local produce a great chance to meet other guests and pick up tips for your stay.
We pride ourselves in looking after our guests. Stuck for a walking route? We have a long list of local hikes, with lunch stops too. Car got a flat tyre? We're happy to help get it fixed quickly. Celebrating? We can help.
