The villa sits in a traditionally styled gated community and is on three floors with 3 double bedrooms and an open plan ground floor that leads onto a south facing decked area. The waters edge is a few feet away protected by railings making the house safe for young families.

The immediate group of houses has exclusive use of the swimming pool situated within metres of the house (from 15th April to 31st October). The masterbedroom has a private roof terrace for discrete sunbathing or sun downers looking towards the ramparts of Aigues-Mortes.

A few minutes walk from the development is the perfectly preserved fortified town of Aigues-Mortes brimming with restaurants, art galleries, shops and bars. The same few minutes in a car take you to some of the best beaches on the Mediterranean or to the midst of the Camargue, one of the top Unesco world heritage sites famed for its pink flamingoes, black bulls and white horses. Close by are the Provençal towns of Nimes and Arles with their Roman Coliseums and the city of Montpellier.

There is a decked patio area overlooking the private dock and marina. This has a table for 8 people and a many herbs and plants including a large vine with sweet white grapes.

There is a sun terrace on the top floor off the master suite with 2 sunloungers.

There is a garage and a dedicated parking space.

Visitor suitability

As the house is 3 storeys, it is not ideal if you have limited maneuverability.

There is a locked gate and railing between the patio and the marina for security and safety for the younger children.

There are 4 bikes in the garage for use by the guests and 2 two person canoes.

There is also a 4 metre rib with 20 hp engine which can be rented separately subject to the correct certificates and licences.

Why this location? Aigues Mortes is an intact and stunning medieval town in the heart of the Camargue. With 300 days of sunshine a year and only 5 miles from the sea along road or canal it is perfectly placed. The town has many restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. The city of Montpelier is 40 minutes away as are the Roman towns of Arles and Nimes with Avignon a bit further.
Unique benefits of property The house sits on the water in a unique marina setting. Aigues Mortes is 15 minutes away by canoe or on foot and 5 minutes by bike. There is a shared pool serving the immediate villas. The marina is a gated secure community with the peaceful setting of fishermen styled houses around a water basin full of boats.
