Valras Plage is a French holiday resort with lots going on in the main holiday weeks of July and August - free open air theatre on the seafront with everything from variety shows to Paris fashion shows, big bands to illusionists. All very French and great fun. There are many restaurants in Valras and small bars with their own 'singers'. Other months May, June, September are a lot quieter and a very nice place to 'chill out' on the beach under the hot sun.
Balcony with 2 chairs - nice to eat out here - no sea views (but beach is after all only 170 paces away). The balcony overlooks a parking area with trees.
Usually there is plenty of free parking but in the busier periods street parking can usually be found within say a 5 minute radius
Perfect for 2 adults but can accommodate up to 2 children in the bunk-beds.
Within a few minutes stroll are boules playing area, pavement cafes, marina, restaurants to suit all pockets, river for fishing, boat hire and sea trips, bicycle hire. Daily indoor market and weekly large outdoor market.
Shops and small supermarkets. All very French and a lovely friendly place. Three of our previous visitors were so impressed they bought studio flats there themselves! Still very reasonably priced by the way.
There are many restaurants in Valras Plage to suit all pockets. Car required for inland exploration. Roman sites at Narbonne (underground Roman market), Orange, Oppidum. Cathar Castles to explore see books in the flat. The famous Rennes Le Chateau is within an easy drive with all the associations with buried treasure (books in the flat). Montpellier, a beautiful city for shopping. Bus service from Valras to inland villages. Cycling - hire bikes in Valras and travel for miles along lanes through the vineyards- try lunch at the village of Serignan or see the flamingoes at a lake just outside Valras (details again in the flat), cycle along the tow-paths of the nearby Canal du Midi to Beziers 9 locks or the other way to Cap d'Agde. Many vineyards in the area which have 'degustation' (sampling). Horse riding in the hills inland - lots and lots to do and visit but if you don't fancy all that there is always the beach and sea within a coupls of minutes !
