While the rest of the world seems far away, it's just a ten minute drive to the A75 motorway leading to many historic towns and villages such as Pézenas, Montpellier, Nimes and Carcassonne. The Med beaches are less than 1hr away.

Brian and Joan achieved their dream of living in France when they fell in love with this property over 14 years ago. It reminded them so much of Brian's childhood home in Africa with its rocky landscapes and bright flowers. They have enjoyed caring for the land, creating gardens and welcoming visitors ever since.

Markets at Lodeve.

Stock up with wonderful local produce at the local market in Lodeve on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. While you are here you can visit the Cathedral with its charming cloisters, or the museum with its summer long special art exhibition.

Sun, sand and sea food.

Head south towards the mediterranean and enjoy a wonderful sea food meal in the oyster producing ports of Bouzigues and Meze on the Etang de Thau(50 minutes) Head a little further, and you will come to the vibrant port of Setes, with its many canals and long stretch of sandy beaches and dunes. Enjoy the amazing sight of water jousting...a special event in all of these ports in summer.

The fortified village of Soubes

Explore the adjacent medieval village of Soubes(4km), with its fortified walls, and two chateaus with real dungeons. Then enjoy lunch underneath the plane trees in the village square at our local bar/restaurant. You can also buy your groceries/croissants here at the little shop.
