Location
Situated in a quiet residential street on the outskirts of the village of Sauvian, the villa is only 5 miles (8 km) from the vast sandy beaches that stretch along the Languedoc coast. Whether you prefer the remote, tranquil dunes of Serignan plage or the bustling and lively Valras plage, there's a patch of sand and an atmosphere to suit anyone.

The neighbouring village of Serignan is approximately 1 mile away on the banks of the river Orb. At the heart of the village is a large, traditional cobble-stone square, which hosts food and flower markets by day and offers an extensive range of bars and restaurants by night.

A decked area to the side of the property leads to the summer kitchen and BBQ. This leads on to a small rear garden overlooking park land.

A lockable sliding gate and high walls around the property ensure privacy and safety for young children.

We are an English family who enjoy good food, good wine, and sunshine. We have owned the villa for several years and have updated it and equipped it with all the home comforts we expect to find in a high standard holiday property.

Why this location? The beaches of the Languedoc region are some of the largest and best that the South of France has to offer and only a 5 mile, traffic-free drive from the villa. Travel 30 minutes inland and you are in the Haute-Languedoc, a national park with limestone gorges and ancient villages perched on the hillsides. The fortified city of Carcassonne is a 45 minute drive, with its spectacular fairytale turrets and battlements. The region boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year - one of the reasons why it is the largest wine making area in the world. There are several airports within a 1 hour drive, which are served by low cost carriers, including Beziers, Montpellier, Nimes, and Carcassonne.

Travel East along the coast to visit the picturesque town of Sete where they enjoy the ancient sport of water jousting. Travel west to find the city of Narbonne, which boasts a magnificent cathedral and is close to the famous Cistercian monastery of the Abbey de Fontfroide.

The lively resorts of Valras plage and Vias plage are within easy reach of Sauvian. For a peaceful village setting and plenty of good restaurants head to Serignan square.

The property matched the description, it was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped. The bedrooms very comfortable with more than adequate wardrobe space. Bathroom with separate shower and bath, again very clean.
The outside was paved with attractive trees and shrubs. The pool a welcome addition.
The the villa is situated within a quiet residential area and within an easy walk to bakery, shop, bar etc.
The owners were prompt when dealing with our booking and answered any queries we had quickly.
We would thoroughly recommend this villa.
