About this property

Large Family Friendly Home, Pool & Beautiful Garden. This villa is in a coastal setting.

Built on the outskirts of Vendres about 20 years ago, the house has 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (baths and showers) 2 separate wcs, kitchen and a large lounge/dining room.

Outside there is an enormous terrace for outdoor eating and chilling in the evening, a large beautiful mature garden with figs, pomegranates and other fruits. A gardener attends all year round. There is automatic watering (arrosage) which keeps the lawn very green.
BBBQ/plancha available.
Pool/beach towels provided.

A 10 x 4 pool, with a dome cover. The water is saline, which is really soft and easy on the skin and eyes, much nicer than chlorine and absolutely nothing like the sea! The cover keeps the pool immaculate and very warm. It also extends the season for using the pool.

There are 2 downstairs bedrooms; 1 twin and 1 kingsize. Upstairs 3 bedrooms are a twin, a double and a kingsize, so the house sleeps 10 comfortably.
There is also a travel cot and highchair available on request (need own linen).
Fans available for the bedrooms; All beds have pocket sprung mattresses; wooden shutters on all windows; double glazing; pull down mosquito blinds if you want to keep windows open at night in the summer.

Linen provided includes bath, kitchen and beach/pool towels.

Large lounge/diner has an extending oak table for 10, corner sofa, other chairs, coffee-table etc. Reversible air-conditioning. Two patio doors to terrace.
There is a 42" LED Panasonic Viera tv with Humax satellite tv receiver and HD recorder, all UK Freesat channels are available, plus domestic French tv. Yamaha surround sound speaker for tv, to which music can be streamed via Bluetooth. Dvd/BluRay player.
Free wi-fi.

The kitchen has an oven with mixed gas and electric hob. Dishwasher and Samsung fridge-freezer. Kettle, microwave, cafetiere. We can arrange for food welcome packs to be bought prior to your arrival (there will be a small charge for this). Numerous kitchen cupboards. Well stocked with plenty of crockery and cutlery for 10 people without having to wash up each meal time. Numerous pans, mussel/stock pot, casseroles, seafood accessories.

On the terrace is an outdoor dining table with chairs for 10. There is also an modular rattan sofa and coffee-table. BBQ.

The village centre is a 5 min walk and has the following facilities:
mini supermarket (Vidal) and 2 boulangeries open 7 days; cave; pizzeria; hairdressers; tabac; Post Office; pharmacy; cafe/bar. There is also a small traditional market Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday mornings, from June to Sep, (Fri and Sun in winter).

Tennis courts 200m down road, contact Mairie to use.

Lots of cycle paths, particularly around the nature reserve of Vendres Etang. This is beautiful and very peaceful. There are ruins of an old Roman Temple of Venus and an Aqueduct. You can cycle to the beach with no traffic in 15 mins by just going out the back of the house.

Valras has activities on all the time from music events, food festivals, circus, go-karting, markets & local festivals.
Best supermarkets are large Carrefour in Serignan(open 7 days), Lidl and other shops.

Valras is a vibrant town with a great holiday feel and a whole host of restaurants and shops. A market open every day of the year with numerous stalls selling fresh produce: coquillages, charcuterie, boulangerie, epsicerie. All very helpful and friendly.

Catering is available, provided by Mike a professional chef. This service comes highly recommended by ourselves and our guests, adding that little bit of extra luxury. Menus are available, please ask or visit our website (below).

We can also arrange for:
-Beziers airport pick ups;
-for food and drink to be bought prior to your arrival to really get you started, (cold drinks already in the fridge ready for your arrival!);

We believe that we have provided most things that should be needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay and have responded to feedback from this years guests. The reviews so far have been very positive. We have a new pool management team, as the last one was not very 'responsive' and our house keepers are outstanding.

Bookings are Saturday to Saturday, although happy to consider some flexibility around this out of season.

We love France and the French people and have spent many years holidaying in the Languedoc with our four children. It has always been a dream of ours to own a place close the Mediterranean with access to beautiful countryside, wines & seafood. That dream has now become a reality. This is a real luxury for us, so we hope it will be for you too!

Why this location? We live in an old house in the UK, which is great, but can get a bit dusty and is an effort to keep clean and tidy. We were therefore looking for a house that was a little easier to manage and keep clean. This house is about 15 years old, is a great size, with a lovely south facing garden & pool, with views of the Med upstairs. It is secure and private, yet not isolated. Being on the edge of a village, with all amenities within walking distance is fantastic. Yet it is a few minutes from wonderful beaches of Valras and Vendres Plages with activities galour, the nature reserve of Vendres Etang, the Canal du Midi and the vibrant resort of Valras Plage. So there is plenty to do, with attractions to suit all tastes (young and old) yet in a peaceful surrounding.

Valras with is supermarkets and open air market open everyday all year round selling seafood, amongst everything else, is a real bonus.
Easy access to train, airport and motorway.
Plus Montpelier, Carcassone, Perpignan, Narbonne and everything the area has to offer.
We have fantastic house keepers who keep an eye on the property for us They can offer pick ups from the airport and food & drink supplies for your arrival.

The accommodation was perfect for our two families with grown up children.Our weather was lovely so we made good use of the outdoor spaces and the pool. The fact that you can walk into the village in the morning for your bread made us choose this property over others and there was the added bonus of various other small shops. The house is on the outskirts of the village and in a quiet secluded spot.The location is perfect for touring around both inland and the coastline. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend staying here.

We have just returned from a really lovely holiday at this beautiful villa. It is perfect for families, with younger children, as it has a large enclosed garden and pool cover to make it very safe. The villa is really well equipped and very comfortable. There is a sandy beach about a 10 min drive away, which we visited, although the kids just wanted to be by the pool. The village has a pharmacy, bakery, small supermarket, pizzeria (the pizzas are amazing!) and there is a huge supermarket a short drive away. The owner of the villa has been extremely helpful and accomodating throughout. The communication we have had from strat to finish has been excellent.
All in all, a really lovely villa which we would highly recommend.

We found it so easy to deal with Mr Howes and the house exceeded our expectations .
The situation was brilliant, near enough to walk to the village and drive to the coast, but in a quiet area .
The house had everything you could want in fact it was more like a home, with the quality of the furnishings and the games , books etc .
The pool was the best we have every had in France.
i would certainly recommend this property to friends.
The pictures did not do the property justice.
We found all the shop keepers in the village so helpful and friendly .
The beaches are beautiful and even though it was the height of the holiday season, we managed to park and find enough space on the beach to settle ten of us.
The property was very clean and well maintained .
We were a family of ten from 5 years to 69 years and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I visited this property with our daughter and her family.
The advertising accurately reflected the property and was supported by extensive information provided by the owner. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives.
The area is ideal for families with attractive beaches plus other atttractions.
We visited a dinosaur park, farm and a safari park with many animals. (Ideal for children)
There are numerous local towns to visit plus convenient supermarkets.
