Historic Village Centre House with Modern Facilities. This cottage/gite is in a village setting.

On 10th June 2017 we were proud to be awarded a 4-star classification from the official 'Etoiles De France' organisation, in 'la categorie Meubles de tourisme':
"The property is classified as 4 * for a capacity of 4 people" (translated from the French certificate).
Traditional village centre old stone house for up to 4 adults maximum: 1 or 2 couples, or 2-3 singles. Two bedrooms each with a double bed, one of which also has a good sofabed, so 2 singles can share that bedroom comfortably. Adults only - due to traditional steep staircase, and sorry, not suitable for dogs or other pets.
Quiet area in the heart of Olonzac, minutes from cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, boulangeries, banks.

Heating

Logburner, plus the air conditioning in the bedrooms are reversible so are good heaters in the winter, but more normally used to cool the bedrooms in the hot summers

Locals bars, cafes, restaurants, or in nearby cities such as Narbonne and Carcassonne a lot more options

Garden and outside

A small outside space off the kitchen with table and 4 chairs and barbecue to use

Parking and garages

Free parking directly outside in the square. Parking restrictions apply on Tuesday only when the wonderful street market closes down several main village roads - a great attraction and must-see of the village

Visitor suitability

Adults only due to the traditional narrow winding staircase. Not suitable for pets.

World heritage Site, the Medieval City Of Carcassonne

A stunning fortified city surrounded by 2 layers of walls and turrets. Inside it's free to enter as it's a real medieval city, although there is a small charge for the Chateau in the centre. A stunning world class heritage site, which should be on everyone's bucket list! Many, many other sites such as the Canal Du Midi, and cities, beaches, mountains, and lakes to visit

Canal Du Midi

The historic Canal Du Midi is very close, to either walk along, visit waterside restaurants and cafes, or hire bicycles and use safe mostly off-road routes on the canal and in the area

Sandy, safe, Mediteranean beaches at Narbonne and Gruissan

Superb swimming and water sports at Gruissan Plage and Narbonne Plage, and other beaches on the Mediterranean, about 45 minutes by car from here. Huge range of restaurants too!

Fontfroide Abbey or l'Abbaye Sainte-Marie de Fontfroide is a former Cistercian monastery in France, situated 15 kilometers south-west of Narbonne, a short drive from Olonzac
