The conversion aimed to retain some of the charm and ambiance of the property whilst adding in modern touches and facilities, whilst the majority of the time we do operate as a Chambre D'Hote we have had requests to hire the whole property for groups to make this their base for a holiday, therefore in 2019 we are offering a number of weeks where this is possible. |Why this location?||Villa Limonade is located in the bustling village of Olonzac which is renowned for its weekly Market every Tuesday. We picked this area as there is just so much to do, the village is located in the centre of the Minerve wine region and produces some of the best French wines available. We are only 2km from the UNESCO protected Canal Du Midi and 30 minutes from the Medieval City of Carcassonne (also a UNESCO Site). For those who want an active holiday there is lots of things to keep you interested , whether its cycling on the road or cross country, walking tours, kayaking, canyoning and even rock climbing. For those who prefer a little more sedate entertainment we are able to offer cookery courses, wine tasting, vineyard visits and even a Master of Wine to run a course. The Cities of Beziers and Narbonne are close by and offer a great day out with brilliant food markets. And for those who love the sea we are only 40 minutes from the coast.|
|Unique benefits of property||Villa Limonade was constructed at the start of the 1900's as a Lemonade Factory, it ceased production in 1977 and lay empty for many years. Just over 10 years ago the property was purchased and carefully converted into the Chambre D'Hote charme - Villa Limonade. We have 4 different types of rooms :- twin, double, superior and our Suite Printemps Bleu. All rooms have full en suite facilities, coffee-machines and kettles and in the Suite a wine fridge and bath as well as a shower. Outside we have a beautiful enclosed garden with a small swimming pool and lovely shaded areas to relax in with a glass of local wine. As we are only half a kilometre from the village centre guests are able to stroll down for a drink at the local cafe or indeed a meal in one of the 5 restaurants .... no need to take the car. The village has all the required services and facilities with a health centre, bank, supermarket, hairdressers and post office. Olonzac and Villa Limonade are a perfect place to relax.|
Every Tuesday throughout the year the streets of Olonzac are converted into one of the best local markets. The market has 2 clear sections - from Villa Limonade down to the high street is all food focused with local cheeses, hams, olives wine and some of the freshest fruit and vegetables. You can stroll along and many vendors encourage you to sample their products. The second part of the market runs long the high street and consists of clothes, shoes, gifts, soaps and many other items, there is even a small Brocante/Antique stall.
This is one of the best known markets in the region and runs every Tuesday and is right on the doorstep of Villa Limonade, a real must do during any holiday.
The Canal Du Midi is a UNESCO protected site which runs from Sete all the way to Toulouse. Villa Limonade is just over a kilometre away from the pretty Port of Homps where many cruisers are based. The Canal remains a key part of the region and offers numerous leisure opportunities, from hiring a boat to riding the tow paths....its a great way to spend a day.
