About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr John Vincent

In 1998 my wife and I visited Almeria to look for a more permanent home for retirement but away from the mass tourism. We stumbled on Lubrin and within the first hour, as we sat in Bar Molino with our wine and tapas variadas, we knew that we had found our Spanish pueblo. We bought an old cortijo on a 1 hectare finca within a 5 minute walk of the centre of Lubrin. For the next 6 years we rehabilitated the building and converted the terraces into a series of terraced gardens.

The Owner Recommends

Cabo de Gata National Terrestrial and Maritime Park

Cabo de Gata–Nijar Natural Park, is nestled in the wild south eastern corner of Spain, in the province of Almeria, and is one of the last relatively unspoiled stretches along the Mediterranean. It is a mesmerising and captivating arid landscape of perfect half moon bays, hidden coves, ruined castles, dizzying cliffs, extensive coral reefs, volcanic rock formations, and spectacular flora and fauna.

Alhambra, Granada

The Alhambra is Granada’s – and Europe’s – love letter to Moorish culture, a place where fountains trickle, leaves rustle, and ancient spirits seem to mysteriously linger. Part palace, part fort, part World Heritage site, part lesson in medieval architecture, the Alhambra has long enchanted a neverending line of expectant visitors. As a historic monument, it is unlikely it will ever be surpassed – at least not in the lifetime of anyone reading this.
