About this property

One of 3 beautiful cottages in Limousin Countryside. This cottage/gite is in a village setting.

Les Trois Petites Maisons

La Josselyn
The cottage has been lovingly restored, with original features kept wherever possible and beautifully furnished to a high standard.
The cottage is one of 3 and is set in approximately 1 and half acres of its own grounds, with the front garden landscaped and a lazy meandering path leading to the road, which is a stones throw from Lake Mondon (see below for amenities).
Our back garden has been transformed by a 10m x 5m in ground swimming pool (4ft deep) and sunbathing terrace, there is a shingled outside area for each cottage where hours can be spent relaxing and rejuvenating or reading a book, with a glass of wine under the shade of huge parasols.

For the slightly more adventurous, just a 2 minute walk away, opposite the lake is a communal swimming pool with waterslides. On the lake there are pedaloes for hire and in the peak season there are often donut boat rides. This site also offers tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts and boules. (all these amenities for a nominal fee).

There are also many stunning wooded walks along the banks of the river La Benaize, with waterfalls and prehistoric rocks (dolman), where you will find an abundance of wildlife.

For the fishing enthusiast a `carte de peche` can be purchased for a half/full day or weekly ticket.

There are 2 restaurants/bars overlooking Lake Mondon, both within a few minutes walk of the cottage.

There are local shops and supermarkets with a 5 miles radius, or for the larger supermarket there is La Souterraine or St Benoit.

Our cottages are approximately a 10 minute drive from Junction 22 of the A20.

Hello, We are Steve and Jacqui. We purchased the property in 2012 and immediately started renovating it. We believe it is a beautiful property in a unique location. We have lived in France for nearly 5 years and have now renovated 5 properties, but have now hung up our tools and are settling down to running the cottages for holiday rentals. 2016 will be our 2nd year, we thoroughly enjoyed our first year and had some lovely guests. We look forward to next years guests and hope to meet you soon!

A wonderful 10 days in Sunny France 30 to 35 oC for the 10 days - the 3 cottages are lovely, we were met by Steve & Jacqui on arrival and were given all the information about the cottage with loads of tips as to where to go and what to see. we had the middle cottage as we have 2 younger children and it was superb, beautiful inside with lots of room, outside the back BBQ table & chairs, large pool fenced off & alarmed for safety, Steve was there every other day to clean the pool and be on hand for any problems or questions, behind the pool there was a very large grassed area to have fun with the kids. the cottage has a dishwasher and washing machine, free view English TV to get the kids out of the sun for a while each day and lovely bed rooms up stairs.
There is a big lake and camping facility 200 yards from the front door with a swimming pool and stuff to do, the restaurant is owned by an English couple and the food is lovely, esp Thursday when they do Traditional fish and chips.
A small town near by (5 mins in the car) for the local fresh bread or a small supermarket for essentials, if you need more there is a Le Clerc Hyper market 15 mins drive in the next town.
We had neighbors both sides for the 10 days and we met some lovely people esp in the evening with a glass of Wine & BBQ on.
We loved our stay and Steve & Jacqui could not do enough, a lovely couple and would definitely stay again 10/10

We booked this large 2 bed cottage (2 adults and two 13 year old girls) and it was absolutely super. Everything you could possible need for a great holiday –well done to the owners who have thought of everything and then added those surprising final touches that make your holiday special!! We could not fault anything… accommodation, swimming pool, huge garden and location within 2 minutes walk of lac Mondon, La Benaize river and the forest with other picturesque towns/villages a short drive away. There was plenty to do to enjoy an adventurous break and exceptionally comfortable for a relaxing break if the weather is not so great. The owners are a lovely English couple who are very knowledgeable on the area. They provided a folder of easy to read information and loads of leaflets from the Tourist Office so we could consider our plans at a leisurely pace whilst drinking a bottle of chilled bubbly in the garden from the totally unexpected welcome provision pack – how’s that for 5 star service!!!!
If you don’t want to cook in the very well equipped kitchen, or use the barbeque (with the provided bag of charcoal and lighter!) you can walk to the lakeside restaurant for tasty fish and chips among other dishes! There are also many of lovely eating places a short drive away where we enjoyed ‘Plat de Jour’ at very reasonable prices. This is a fantastic holiday cottage and highly recommend to families of all ages. We will definitely return ourselves.
