About this property

Rural, High Quaility Gite but Close to all Amenities. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Les Deux Maisons was completely refurbished by ourselves to a very high standard, as that enjoyed in our own home, using local artisans. It is set within a fully enclosed garden of approximately 1 acre. We have a summer house and gloriette at the disposal of our guests where they can take meals or simply enjoy the sun, and the shade!

We are close to several small towns which offer a range of restaurants, supermarkets, theatres, cinema, swimming pools (which have life guards in the summer months) and a little further for days out are Oradour Sur Glane, the French National monument to those lost in WW2, Lac St Pardoux, Chauvigny, Limoges & Poitiers.

These later cities have world famous facilities; porcelaine in Limoges and Future Scope in Poitiers, along with a whole host of days out which we list on our web site and have leaflets in the gite for guests to browse.

Oradour Sur Glane

Not our Oradour, but Oradour-sur-Glane, the "Martyred Village" of World War Two, about forty minutes drive from here. This historic village and visitor centre tells the events surrounding 'D' day and the part that this village and the resistance played in delaying the movement of German re-inforcements. It sadly shows the horrific price it paid for it's part in the war.
