We are Steve & Margaret Fox and we moved to this lovely area of France in 2014.
|Year property purchased||2014|
|Why this location?||We have plenty of sunshine and are driving distance from the Channel ports, in addition to Caen and Le Havre and our nearest airport, Limoges, is just 45 mins drive away, serviced all year round from the UK by Ryanair.|
|Unique benefits of property||We have family gites and a closed fishing lake (free to fish day and night for guests) - something we struggled to find when we holidayed in France as a family.|
The beautiful town of Brantome on the river Dronne has a lovely old town and riverside cafes and restaurants. It's less than an hour by car.
Famous for it's porcelain, with a lovely cathedral and botanical gardens, Limoges has an old butchers quarter, a medieval bridge and, of course, shops and restaurants.
The historic martyr's village of Oradour Sur Glane, left as it was in June 1944 is a 45 minute drive.
The 15th century chateau town of Rochechouart is just 10 mins drive away and has a good range of shops, banks and restaurants.
La P'tite Loco, Rochechouart - typically French lunchtime set price menu, lovely food at a very good price.
L'Hotel De France - lovely restaurant with a wider menu.
Large local lake with beach, swimming, leisure activities, restaurant.
A railway track where you cycle specially adapted trolleys along old railway tracks through the Vienne countryside. Best to book at busy times.
Very popular Wednesday morning market. It does get busy but there are lots of local fresh product stalls plus interesting crafts.
