Beautiful Stone Farmhouse with Private Heated Pool . This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Paradise Francais is a beautiful 5 bedroom stone farmhouse set in a lovely location in France, with far reaching views of the beautiful countryside and a fantastic private and heated swimming pool with lovely views and with its own pool house providing a kitchen and sitting area, loo and changing room and outdoor shower, so you have everything you need close to hand. And as this doubles up as my office there is wifi too !

The Haute-Vienne department within the Limousin is wonderfully picturesque, and has an abundance of rivers, idyllic hills, and French villages to explore, and delightful local restaurants offering the very best in Limousin cuisine.

Paradise has it all, from those wanting to relax and enjoy long days in the sun, lounging by the pool, you will not be able to find anywhere better to unwind. Or if you want a more active holiday the area has plenty of outdoor activities for you to take part in, including water sports at Lake St Pardoux, fishing for carp at nearby lakes or trout in the river at the end of the road, walking, and cycling, all right on your doorstep!

It is no surprise to those of us who live here that this is where the French come for their summer holidays, as this region offers everything anyone could ever want for a perfect holiday!



Kitchen and dining

In the main house is a modern, fully equipped kitchen with double ceramic sink, electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer (Additional drinks fridge in the utility area off the kitchen). Just off the kitchen is an open living and dining area with a large, old oak dining area which seats 8.

Just off the dining area are frenchdoors, and immediately outside of those is an outdoor dining area with a covered patio. Perfect for sitting out with a bottle of wine and time of day!

Another fully functioning kitchen and dining area is located next to pool and within the pool house. The terrace is a covered dining area with wooden table, 8 chairs and 2 all-weather sofas for pre-dinner drinks in the sun.

Living rooms

The main house has a beamed lounge and dining are with a wood burning fire and comfy sofa and armchairs. There is a 42" 3D HD tv, dvd and BluRay player, Nintendo Wii, and UK Freesat Channels, with a selection of Films, cds and games, should you want a cozy night in front of the fire.

Off this sitting area leads into what was the old barn and is now a further sitting/relaxing area with large double doors opening out on the village lane. A second staircase leading from the additional sitting room brings you to the games room with table tennis and pool tables and a bar football game as well as a further bed which gives you a sitting area or can be used as an extra bedroom for another adult or older child (Steep staircase). This area of the house can provide an almost separate area if required - for either children or teenagers to have their own space or for older guests who want to have a quiet space to retreat to now and again.


Up the main staircase are three double bedrooms and a single / twin bedroom. One has a King size bed and en-suite shower room with views over the gardens and side views of the countryside. The second is a lovely double four poster bed with lace canopy and views of the Blonde mountains in the distance. The rear rooms comprise of a double bedroom and a single or twin room, as these two rooms are linked this can provide either a sitting / dressing room to the double if this is not needed as a bedroom. A further small bed or cot can be added if required. To complete the sleeping accommodation there is a further charming twin bedroom downstairs at the front of the house. All of the upstairs bedrooms have lovely far reaching views over the countryside. As well as the en-suite there is a family bathroom upstairs and an additional separate toilet and washbasin downstairs.


In the main house is a family bathroom upstairs with bath and shower, as well as an en suite off the king size bedroom. An additional separate toilet and washbasin on the ground floor, and another toilet at the pool house. The pool area also has an outdoor summer shower.

Country activities are the main appeal for this area. The pool of course is a wonderful place to spend time, however there are many areas nearby for fishing, walking, horse riding, and the Lakes at Sagnat and St Pardoux have waterspouts available during the summer.

Garden and outside

The large gardens run mainly alongside the house, maximising the views and providing the most incredible sunsets. The position of the pool was particularly chosen for its perfect location for the views from the terrace and as its at the far end of the main garden area we also put in a self contained pool house so you have the convenience of a mini kitchen, sitting area, loo and changing room so drinks and meals can be prepared without leaving the pool area. This is the place we spend all our time, in winter also as the cabin warms up nicely in the sun even in January and February, so even though the pool is not in use its still a lovely place to enjoy the views and the open space of the gardens. The land adjacent to the pool is also ours, providing complete privacy.

Parking and garages

There is lots of parking for several cars on the gravel driveway and is gated.

Visitor suitability

Paradise is the perfect holiday home for anyone wanting peace and quiet and to enjoy the simple pleasures of just being away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Of course we could not continue to work here without a good internet connection, and we have both UK and French television, so our ideal guests are anyone wanting to enjoy the calming effects of the countryside, whilst still being convenient for day to day life.

We have many extended families with three or sometimes 4 generations holidaying together so the family can spend quality time together with enough separate areas for everyone to find their own space.

A second sitting room off the downstairs twin and linking this area to the main house so can be used as a quiet room for older visitors, or for the children to have their own space. The staircase to the games room is off this room, and there you will find table tennis, pool and a sitting area with a huge selection of books.

We are Roy and Louise, and Paradise is our perfect escape from the stresses of our working lives as technical service providers to the conference industry. <br/><br/>As we spend so much of our working life travelling and living in hotels we wanted to create a place that we were able to unwind in without the need for us to go away on holiday, as for us, getting time at home is the best holiday ever !

Why this location? At the time I was living in Cheshire and running a business meant that I could work from anywhere as long as I had a good internet connection. When looking at the options I wanted to make sure we could drive to the house in a day as I knew this would make it much more useable for us and local friends, so drew a line on a map of France which was within a days drive and another line where the better weather started, and found a region called the Limousin which at the time I hadnt heard of.

Having made a few viewing appointments with a local estate agent (there was nothing on the internet at this time !) we headed out to see if we liked the area, and we knew immediately that we were so lucky to find a house with such wonderful views yet not isolated so bought it there and then!
Unique benefits of property Every time I arrive - at whatever time of day or night - its so nice to walk through the door and knowing we have some time here - even if its only a few days before we are off working again.

The quiet lanes are perfect for a walk, and offer wonderful views at every turn. The 30 minute loop around to the next village and back is something I enjoy every day I can.

Being part of a small commune is lovely as I spend a lot of time there on my own so having friendly neighbours is a huge benefit for me. However as we are the first house in the village, most of the windows just look out over the distant hills, so we have the best of both worlds.

Places to Visit - Parc Zoo Reynou

Parc Zoo du Reynou is located in Vigen. The park is centred around a castle with stunning, landscaped surroundings and stretches over 45 hectares with over 130 species of animals, such as large mammals and birds.

A perfect destination for both adults and children!

Limousin Steam Train Trips - Train à Vapeur

The region is home to the Train à Vapeur steam train, which operates all throughout the summer, and covers routes to and from Limoges and Eymoutiers.

The train's day long route is sure to excite everyone in the family as it takes you through the stunning La Haute Vienne Valley and famous nature reserves.
