About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Margaret Malcolm

Hi. I lived and worked in the Far East for several years but a love of a peaceful, rural life led my husband and myself to move here.

Year property purchased 2015
Why this location? This is the most beautiful, peaceful spot imaginable, full of the sound of birdsong and the river at the bottom of the garden. We feel as if we are in our own world, with hawks circling above, deer living in our fields and the migrating crane passing directly overhead. The night sky, with no light pollution, is simply stunning. There are so many interesting places to visit in this region, and plenty of shops and restaurants. The roads are straight and empty - driving is a real pleasure. It is truly a little piece of heaven.
Unique benefits of property The house is a renovated, walnut barn, set over three levels. The kitchen and sun-room lead directly onto totally secluded terraces which are .surrounded by fields. The pool decking is immediately adjacent to the kitchen terrace making a quick dip before breakfast so easy and appealing. The swing bench is set slightly apart from the house by the (securely covered) well. The Class Two fishing river La Benaize flows a mere 100 metres from the front door where children may paddle, swim or have fun damming the river.
