La Grange is a delightful, 6 Bedroom comfortable 18th Century Coach House (to the neighbouring Chateau) which has been lovingly restored to an exceptionally high standard giving space and complete seclusion with the wow factor as soon as you drive through the gated drive. Although retaining many of the original features, including exposed beams and stonework with large fireplaces and wood burning stoves, every modern convenience has been thought of. We are also undergoing additional renovation works this winter - the kitchen is to be extended to double the size, new bi-fold doors at the back of the house which will lead onto extensive decking area, brand new heated pool and BBQ. 2 new shower rooms on the old side. The "old" pool to the front of the house will be filled in to make further garden and parking facilities.
Its glorious restoration was done some years ago and the feel is warm, open and natural. Like a Tardis, the modest, rustic exterior belies the vast, comfortable and inviting spaces inside, and it’s perfect for families; there's a fenced heated swimming pool, barbecue, bikes and a ping pong table in the barn area. The huge sitting room has an equally huge fireplace topped by a gargantuan beam, myriad armchairs and a hunting-lodge atmosphere. The double-height dining room is in lovely old stone and sites the splendid oak dining table. Through the original wooden door lies real treasure: the beautiful sunny kitchen with all you could need and glorious views. Upstairs, bedrooms are done with style and originality; the big master suite is an absolute wow of creative décor and a free standing bath with a view. There are some fine pieces of furniture, too, in white rooms with knotty pine floors
The private fenced and heated swimming pool is close to the house whilst the meadow at the back of the house is perfect for a kick around with a football. Although this is the sleepy part of the Haute Vienne, and perfect for a get away from it all holiday, the pretty market town of Magnac Laval is only 10 minutes away and for those wanting to explore a little further, Limoges with its old city, covered market and museums is only 40 minutes away. We have 8 new bikes (with helmets) which are free to use, table tennis in the barn and even a couple of exercise bikes for the guests to use.
Le Grange is perfect for an "all ages" holiday with plenty of room for everybody to find their own space.
The Kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and has a lovely refectory table where you can plan the day's activities. There is seating for 12 in the Dining Room and further dining for 12 outside, near the BBQ area. This will be extended to double the size this winter with brand new kitchen units.
Everything has been thought of - big range stove, full size fridge/freezer; washing machine; dishwasher; microwave etc etc.
The huge sitting room has a lovely woodburning stove - perfect in case of chilly evenings. Patio doors lead onto the terrace which is perfect for breakfast. There are lots of comfortable sofas and chairs which are perfect for an afternoon snooze. There is TV which offers UK Free View.
There are 3 bedrooms in the "new" side of La Grange and a further 3 bedrooms to the original side of the La Grange. All are delightfully decorated and extremely comfortable - no fighting over views as they all have them! The master bedroom has a victorian free standing bath and dressing room. 2 new shower rooms are to be built.
Two bedrooms on the new side (both with shower cubicles) and a further 2 on the old side - one with shower cubicle and one with bath. There is a further shower room on the ground floor which is great for children when coming in from the pool.
There are two woodburning stoves - one in the hall and another one in the living room. There is of course central heating if required
The restaurant in nearby Magnac Laval even has a quiz night on Thursdays!
The private and heated swimming pool is to the front of the house and is fenced and gated. There is a patio off the living room and a large area to the right of the house which houses the bbq and large dining table. To the rear of the house is a large grassed area which is perfect for sunbathing or just having a snooze in the shade. (this will be upgraded over winter 2018)
There is sufficient parking for several cars.
I love old properties and fell in love with La Grange when I first spotted it - it has been lovingly restored to retain many of it's original features

Porcelain connoisseurs will already be familiar with the legendary name of Limoges. For more than 200 years, the city has thrived as the top producer of excellent hard-paste porcelain (china) in France. Several factories continue to make ‘limoges’ and stunning examples fill city museums and galleries.
Limoges is on the site of the 10 BC Roman city Augustoritum, which took advantage of this strategic position on the River Vienne. The modern-day centre is compact and easy to explore: historic buildings and museums cluster in the medieval Cité quarter, alongside the river, and the partly pedestrianised Château quarter, just to the west.
If you come by train you’ll be arriving in style at the city’s grand art-deco Gare des Bénédictins.
There is a fantastic daily market at Les Halles which is perfect for gifts or local produce.
Magnac Laval has old quarter and delightful riverside. All the charm of rural France with supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Thursday is Market Day when you can shop in true French Style.
Sandy beaches and very large lake at Lac St. Pardoux - 30 minutes drive with large beach areas. Surrounded by woodlands, ideal for mountain biking, horse riding, jogging, and walking. 330 hectares of lake where you can take part in a number of water sports
