Set amidst tranquil 'bocage' countryside, and overlooking the River Benaize, this cottage is just for 2. Birds of prey soar over the fields, coypu swim in the river (as do trout and carp), deer roam freely and birdsong is everywhere. The cottage is comfortably furnished and the living room opens out onto decking overlooking the River Benaize. Sit and relax here, listening to the peaceful 'ker-plunk' of the water flowing over the site of the old mill race. Or watch the sun go down while sipping a glass of wine with your barbeque (gas).
The kitchen is open plan, leading into the lounge area and then onto the decking. There is a gas cooker, a fridge, small freezer, kettle and cafetière. In cooler weather one may light the woodburning stove. There is a table capable of seating 3 people comfortably, plus, on the decking a small table and chairs for 2.
The living room has a leather 3-seater couch and a sizeable armchair, comfortably furnished with cushions.
The main bedroom has a double bed and an armchair, plus side tables and lamps. The dressing room opens off the bedroom and has two chests of drawers, a dressing table, a mirror and facilities for hanging clothes. The door between these 2 rooms may be closed if privacy is needed for an extra bed/cot.
The bathroom opens directly from the main bedroom and has a shower, wash-hand basin, toilet and washing machine.
Gas central heating and a wood burning stove.
The flat-screen television has access to all UK and European Freeview channels. There us also a dvd player and Netflix. Wifi is available throughout the cottage.
The decking overlooks fields and the river. There is a swing bench with canopy, a gas-fired barbeque, table and chairs for dining and a large, sun parasol.
Parking is directly adjacent to the cottage.
This cottage is primarily for couples but there is the facility to accommodate one other person on a z-bed. A babies travelcot, highchair, stair-gate and fireguard can also be provided. The decking rails are constructed according to French legislation for child safety.
Hi. I lived and worked in the Far East for several years but a love of a peaceful, rural life led my husband and myself to move here.

Unmissable, ancient, monthly market at Les Herolles held on the 29th of each month (or the Monday if the 29th is a Sunday). High end artisanal market selling absolutely everything from wines, cheeses, meats and fruit and vegetables to livestock and farm machinery. Not to forget handmade soaps, furniture, clothes, fabrics and on-site dining. An experience!
