La Jolie Maison has an enclosed large private garden and is surrounded by beautiful rolling green fields and forests. The south west facing sun terrace is an absolute sun trap where there is nothing better than to sit out of an evening with a glass of vin watching nature hard at work, sun setting, night sky fill with stars ... a truly fantastic sight!

Unfortunately, due to the steps up to the property La Jolie Maison is not suitable for wheelchair users, children are more than welcome but again we ask parents to be aware of the steps and open stairs in the Cottage

We have spent the last few years renovating La Jolie Maison to transform it into the wonderful holiday home it now is. Fully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing holiday in the wonderful Perigord-Limousin National Park.

Beautiful town on the edge of the River Drone which is know as the Little Venice of the Dordogne. Mixture of medieval and Renaissance architecture, belfry of the Abbey of Saint-Pierre is said to be one of the oldest in France. Wonderful weir and hotel on the edge of the river with a working water mill, mill boat trips around the town, numerous restaurants, park, shopping, cobbled side streets, canoeing, busy Friday morning market.

Bussiere Gallant Lake/Espace Hermeline Adventure Area

Beautiful lake with beachside area, children’s Adventure Park, tree top rope walking, zip wire across the lake, Velo Rail (in the summer) and numerous signposted walks/cycle tracks routes to suit all abilities

Piegut Pluviers

Very popular Wednesday morning market which has been held since the 17th Century. Oradour-Sur-Glane

Of historic interest is the town of Oradour-Sur-Glane which on the 10th of June 1944 had its occupants massacred by the German Waffen SS Company, the town remains the same as it did that day as a somber memorial to the victims.
