Living and working in a Norfolk village in the heart of Thetford Forest, we were already blessed with beautiful countryside and peace quiet but we needed a new challenge. A long standing love of France made it the number one contender to set up our new home and we eventually settled on the previously unvisited Limousin region. With quiet roads and friendly people it was pretty much love at first sight and we soon found our own little bit of heaven which we look forward to sharing with you.

We had a lovely holiday at Gites Forets.
The Garden was particularly lovely and we spent a large part of our holiday just enjoying that.
If you want to get away from the Rat race this is a great place to do it.
Mark and Lorrayne were very sweet hosts and always friendly warm and helpful.
The children also really enjoyed the Garden. Particularly the pool which it was difficult to get them out of. Also enjoyed the Pétanque, soft archery, Badminton and Fishing in the Gites own little lake.
Lorrayne and I are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, it was a pleasure to see the gardens and pool come to life with so much laughter as you all enjoyed family time together. It would be lovely to see you all again in the future, the children are a real credit to you both and I haven’t forgotten that I owe them a fish or two and some successful glow worm spotting.
Wishing you all success and happiness in all that you do
Mark and Lorrayne
This was the best relaxing holiday we have had in a long time. Mark and Lorrayne are excellent hosts and can not do enough to ensure you enjoy your stay. Their private lake is brilliant for casual fishermen, women and childten and Mark is on hand to help too. Lovely cosy gite well equipped and extremely comfortable. Lots to do locally for adults and kids if you are more energetic too. Would highly recommend this place and will return again for sure.
Many thanks for your lovely comments, we are both so pleased you all enjoyed your stay with us, it was a real pleasure spending time with the lads around the lake and watching Dad land his big carp, even if we did have to jump into the lake to stop it escaping to get a picture of the fish and proud captor.
And finally thanks for all the cake, in our humble opinion nowhere in Bakewell makes a better tart than you and we fully expect to see you on the next series of the Bake Off.
Thanks for all the laughs and hope to see you all one day soon
Mark and Lorrayne
