We had an excellent holiday in this well appointed cottage. Everything we needed was there as shown in the advert. Its situation is wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by fields and woodland. So many butterflies and birds all around. The owners are very helpful and were always willing to offer advice on places to visit . Le Fournil is within easy driving distance of many of the attractions such as Rocamadour and Padirac, with other attractions such as Sarlat a little further away. Argentat is an interesting town by the river, with lots of picturesque old houses. It is possible also to drive eastwards into the mountains of the Auvergne. This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting with friendly and helpful hosts. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys the beauty of the countryside.
Thanks both of you, glad you had a good holiday and hope you had a good trip home!

What a superb gite, without doubt the best we've ever stayed in. It's a beautifully restored old bakery that has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The big wood burner stove and inexhaustible supply of logs keeps it nice and cosy even when the weather is not so good! The owners, Tony and Mary, are a lovely couple who live next door, and really made our stay memorable. They are a treasure trove of local information, invited us for drinks and supplied us with locally produced eggs and vegetables. The surrounding countryside is lovely and great for cycling and walking with bigger walks in the Auvergne only an hour or two away. There;s a boulangerie in Sexcles and the pretty town of Argentat is 10Kms away with all the local amenities. A great stay - highly recommended.
Everthing you want for a relaxing holiday , the town of argentat only 10 min away ,tony and Mary lovely people , great scenery on way to all the fantastic sites , 10/10
This is an idyllic countryside retreat - ideal for walkers, twitchers and wildlife lovers. Also great for people who love just to get away from it all - aah the peace and quiet.
However, it is great also for a base to go sightseeing the many fantastic towns, villages nearby; Argentat, Curemonte, Turenne, Rocamadour, Salers, Beaulieu-Sur- Dordogne, Sarlat to name but a few.
Your hosts are very welcoming and will sort out any problems if they should occur and are happy to recommend local walks, places to visit and local eateries to sample local produce.
It is a jewel in the French countryside - a perfect well equipped gite.
