Great holiday with friends. House, location and pool were perfect. Many thanks once again
Had a fantastic week in this great house. So much space to spread out and the pool and games room is perfect for teenagers. Such a great location the views are just stunning! Beaulieu is just down the hill with everything that you need. water sports down by the river and a selection of restaurants in the centre or down by the river. There are two lakes within a twenty minute drive and a large water park.
Planning to return with friends having viewed the apartment. A great holiday. Thank you.
Thank you for a lovely review, hope to see you again next year!
First time for us renting a self catering house in France.
Everything was so easy. Caroline answered all our questions and queries.
We really enjoyed having a private pool where you only have your own children to watch from pool side. Lovely evenings Bbq Ing and playing ping pong. So much beautiful countryside to explore on days out to caves, Beautiful villages and swimming lakes.
Beaulieu, just down the winding hillside has everything that you need supermarket, shops, banks, bakeries and lots of restaurants in the centre and down by the river. We will be back and self catering is definitely for us! Thank you once again for a lovely holiday
Many thanks for the lovely review. Hope to see you again
This was our third visit and was as enjoyable as our earlier ones. We have always found the house clean and tidy and the pool and gardens are well looked after. The setting of the house on the hillside with a magnificent view of the Dordogne valley makes the covered terrace a great place for eating breakfast, watching the birds and butterflies below. The main bedroom and one downstairs (and one in the apartment, if hired) have air conditioning, which meant that we slept well despite the heatwave. The pool is a good size and great for swimming, although if you want a cooler experience, there is always the opportunity to swim in the river, close to the town's outdoor pool. The steps between the different levels from house to pool provide plenty of exercise. The house is well located for visits to Rocamadour, Collonges and the caving system at Gouffre de Padirac (all well worth a visit). The Auberge de Vieux Port nearby does a great lunch, and the vineyard/co-operative at Glanes sells wines of really good quality at very good prices (try the white, but check opening times). There is an intermarche just over a mile away at the foot of the hill and the town of Beaulieu is within five minutes by car and has all the facilities you need and some spectacular carvings at the church. This is a place where you can relax and enjoy yourselves, without the crowds that you will find further west on the other side of the A20. Well recommended.
Many thanks for the lovely review once again. We shall miss you next year having seen you for the last three. Time to try a different area of France in search of more wine. All the best. Caroline
