I love France and especially the Limousin, whose unjustified lack of familiarity we use to our advantage. No overcrowded conditions in a beautiful setting with a great summer climate. In the near future we will go with the minicamper to further explore France when we have guests in the house.

This property is an amazing place, if you like rural peace and quiet this is it.
House is huge plenty of space rooms are all lovely and clean lots of towels, kitchen has everything you need and there is a spare large fridge and freezer in the utility.
TV was handy internet good but this property is all about the outside, bbq area fab well used long table to seat 12 people under a roof next to the barn.
The grounds are well kept and large, we did have a problem with the pool however it is having a full upgrade and is a lovely shape with parasols and lots of chairs and loungers just to chill out.
Being a carp fisherman I was very interested in the lake it took me a couple days to get in to the carp and once I had cracked the method had fish every day, the owner is adding to the stock of carp so this will be a very nice carp lake once this is done largest fish I caught was 15lb however I have never caught fish that fight like they do in the this lake great fun. Oh and lots of trout too.
To sum up great house well equipped quiet out of the way with a lake on you door step.
We will be going back in the future.
My party included 9 adults and 3 children weather was lovely so had a fantastic 2 weeks, owner helpful with emails, Luke the maintenance guy friendly nothing was a problem.

Owner response

Super Graeme, thanks for this review. Having dropped some 300 rainbow trout in the lake myself for guests fishing fun, I have never seen them again. Happy to hear that they apparently are still there.. I may start a fishing career myself, if they are BBQ size.

My best, Timen Bousema

There are only two words that come anywhere near to describing this property - Stunning & Fabulous! It was the best equipped holiday rental we have ever stayed in, the bathrooms were beautiful and the beds comfy. It is a bit off the beaten track and although we had four young children with us, we did not find this a problem, as they were having such a fantastic time they did not want to go out anywhere! The grounds are well maintained and any small problems were sorted very quickly. The children loved the lake and island and with enough adult supervision did not pose any risks. All contact with the owner was professionally managed and information provided prior to leaving was very helpful. We were fortunate with the weather, but the house is large and if the weather is not very good, there is a games room in the basement and plenty of quiet places to sit and read or play games. As I sat on the terrace each morning, I would watch the birds swooping over the lake, the kingfishers waiting for their first catch and the coypu's swimming around looking for some tasty vegetation and I never wanted to leave. Sadly though, all holidays must end and real life take over, so I have returned home, but part of me is still at Les Moulins.

Owner response

Thank you Lynda, I am very happy that you enjoy the house as much as we do! Thank you for sharing your detailed impressions. Kind regards, Timen

9 / 10 Jennie and family 5 September, 2016

We have been holidaying in France for nearly 30 years and I can honestly say that this is the best property we have stayed in.
The setting is beautiful with plenty of wildlife.
The house is fully equipped for 12 with good quality equipment, china etc and was very clean.
The pool was very cold in spite of solar heating and record high temperatures but this did not deter the younger members of our party. Apparently it is being upgraded at the end of the season.
The lake was a constant source of pleasure to us all with a family of coypu, kingfishers and other wildlife. The children also loved the boat and paddle board and we appreciated the provision of lifejackets. Hours were spent fishing but with no success I'm afraid.
For me, the only downside of this property is its distance from shops. Careful planning of menus is required.
All in all, a wonderful holiday home which we are hoping to revisit in the future and I wouln't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Owner response

Thank you Jennie for the wonderful review.

It is true that for the big supermarkets you have to drive 20km. There are some shops and bakeries closer by, but still only driving distance. As indicated there are some "commercants" amongst which the baker, which visit the house if you ask them to.
We have provided a very large extra fridge and a freezer, to make it possible to shop less frequenltly.

I am glad that apart from this uncontrollable factor, you liked the house.
