|Jesamine||Self Catering||Flexible||2||4||1||Includes single bed on Mezzanine|
Jesamine is a stone built cottage dating from around 1900, probably once a farm workers home. It has been sympathetically renovated to keep its character. This is our own holiday home and we love to stay whenever we can. Therefore you will see that there are some personal items here and there. We like to make our guests welcome and hope they will enjoy staying in our cottage as much as we do.
The living room is very cosy, with original beams and tastefully furnished. There is an English tv with built in dvd player. No wi-fi on site, but there is the Brenne Box in the Market Square in Mezieres just 5 km from the cottage. This is a free service and only just opened. We find it very useful.
The adjoining dining room is entered through an archway, and is open to the garden via french windows.
There is a newly refurbished and well equipped kitchen/diner with cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave and seated area. Off the kitchen there is a large bathroom with bath, wc, vanity unit, and washing machine.
Upstairs, in the converted grenier, there is a double bedroom and a single bedroom, both with views over the village towards the woods. The large landing has a single bed, and screen for privacy.
There is a large garden with seating area at the back of the property as well as a small front garden which also has a table and chairs. There is also a bbq and ample parking at the side of the cottage.
The surrounding area is a haven for nature lovers with woods, lakes and rivers. Ideal for birdwatchers, ramblers, cyclists and anglers. Perfectly situated for touring the Loire region, and the wonderful chateaux of the area, or simply a place to relax and unwind.
We do accept a well behaved dog but must insist it is not allowed upstairs.
The property is not really suitable for small children.
We have English friends in nearby Saulnay who look after the cottage for us. They will check if everything is satisfactory on arrival and will be available during your stay, if required.

Please note, as stated in our terms and conditions, you are required to leave the property clean and tidy on your departure - as you would expect to find it. If you do not wish to thoroughly clean the property before you leave, please make this clear on booking or to Sandy and Jeanne when they call to welcome you. They will be able to offer this service for a charge of 30 Euros.
There are hundreds of lakes with wildlife in abundance. Plenty of places to walk and wonderful woodland paths. Public Hides to visit to watch the water birds and wild animals.
Pretty villages to pass through with stunning chateaux to visit. There are Fetes and brocantes most weekends at one of the surrounding villages. This is a lovely area to explore.
Plenty of lovely rivers and lakes to fish. You will need to buy a card du Peche for your fishing permit, available from the Tourist information.
Bellebouche has a beautiful beach with a huge lake. Water sports to take part in or walk through the woods.
This is a lovely place just as described- very quiet, well equipped and great value for money. We stayed with our kids, aged 11 and 13 and loved the area. Lots of wildlife to see (including deer, eagrets and pond turtles) and nearby chateaux. There is a swimming lake with pine forest and cafe just 4 miles up the road which we went to a lot. We did a daytrip to Futuroscope (about an hour and 15 mins away) which was brilliant and were welcomed like locals to the free open air cinema at Buzancais. The owners were helpful and the place a real home form home.If you're looking for a less touristy location but still with lots of nice places within reach then look no further.
Thank you for your positive comments. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay.
This is our fifth visit to Jesamine. It suits us very well. A lovely small cottage set in beautiful countryside. However this means that you need to travel out for amenities and supplies. We certainly plan to visit again.
It's lovely that you have enjoyed your stay once again.
This is our third stay at this location which in a nutshell sums it up. At the heart of rural France it suits mine and my wife's needs. There is no need to drive if you so desire as nature is all around you and as avid birdwatchers is ideal.
Property as advertised, clean and well maintained and help immediately available when needed.
We all love walking and wildlife. This cottage is in the heart of Le Brenne nature reserve. We sat in the garden under a dome of stars. The cottage was larger than we thought it would be and very comfy. Full of thoughtful facilities and character. Shops are a bit of a distance but thats the same wherever you go. The upside is the peace and quiet you get from the setting.SUPER value. We shall return.
P.S. don't run over the next door neighbours cats.
