Les Deux Platanes is a very well-appointed country cottage, immaculately maintained with high quality fixtures and fittings. We aim to exceed your expectations in offering a holiday cottage that provides a very memorable and relaxing environment from day one.
If you are looking for a tranquil, restful and stress free stay, a warm welcome awaits you in this traditional Berry cottage. The cottage is situated just south of Chatillon sur Indre in the quiet hamlet of Le Breuil aux Gittons but only minutes from excellent shops.
The cottage has been fully renovated but retains many of the features seen in the original building.
There are 2 large, charming bedrooms, one with additional direct access to the south facing terrace (blue room). We can also provide facilities for a baby.
The main door leads to the comfortable and relaxing salon which is equipped with cd and dvd players with full ‘home cinema’. There are books, regional guides and games available.
The cottage has a lovely patio terrace for relaxing at any time. The beautiful enclosed garden is a real 'sun trap', and the 2 mature plane trees provide wonderful shade and are ideal for relaxing under with your favourite book and perhaps a glass of wine in the evening.
Everything is on one level, so would suit anyone with reduced mobility.
Fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, microwave, toaster, fridge and a full range of cooking utensils.
The dining table is in the salon, as well as facilities for eating out of doors.
Guests receive a welcome pack of food essentials on their arrival, which includes bread, local cheese and ham, milk, coffee, tea and a bottle of our local Touraine rose fizz.
The salon has comfortable seating, with a well-stocked bookcase. There is a home-cinema system with a library of over 100 dvds available. A cd player provides music to relax by, and there is free wi-fi.
The Rose bedroom has a double bed and the usual furniture.
The Mucha bedroom has twin beds and also an en suite.
This room has direct access to the terrace.
The main bathroom has a small bath and shower, together with shaver socket. There is a hairdryer provided.
There is a separate toilet.
The en-suite has a walk-in shower, a toilet and wash-hand basin.
There are electric radiators in all rooms, and the salon has a log fire for those who enjoy a cosy atmosphere in spring and autumn evenings.
There is a terrace immediately outside the cottage with table, chairs and a parasol.
Towards the bottom of the private garden, there is another terrace which benefits from the evening sun.
The award-winning cottage garden is stocked with masses of flowers, and the 2 Plane trees provide lovely shade during the sunny summer days.
There is adequate parking for 2 cars accessed by a gated entrance off the small road through the village.
We provide all bed linen, towels, and tea towels which are changed weekly.
There are also towelling robes and house slippers.
In the barn there is a laundry room with 2 washing machines and ironing equipment, and also the freezer.
There are sun beds and loungers stored in the barn, and a barbecue is available.
We have spent many years travelling through France and Europe firstly on our motorcycle, then car and love the diversity of this country. Now we are retired, we spend quite a lot of time here in central France.
