The Regional Park which has over a thousand lakes. This is perfect for those wanting to do bird-watching, cycling or walking. Belle Bouche lake has a water sports facility and beach area open during the summer. We recommend eating at the restaurant the Auberge de la Gabriere overlooking a lake bearing the same name.
This small chateau is very close to Tours and made its name when Edward, Duke of Windsor, married Wallis Simpson there.

A typically French restaurant providing good food in a very family orientated style.
The chateau is magnificent and recently restored. The large market takes place every Thursday. A visit here links very well with visiting a variety of Chinon vineyards.
Not to be missed, this market is held every Sunday morning.
Well worth a visit. The park is perfect for children and the gardens superbly maintained.
Futuroscope is one of France's most popular amusement parks but it is very different in being a park of the moving image. Films in giant format and other interactive activities make this a great day out for the whole family.
The largest animal park in the region.
Highly recommended for its menu, presentation and quality.
Fabulous value for money. This restaurant always lives-up to its Michelin-star rating.
As with all the restaurants, you are always given a very warm welcome and superb food at Cherizy.
Superb wines at superb prices. The English speaking staff will always find the perfect wine to suit your palate. Not to be missed!
Fabulous lunch and very good value for money.

Listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, Montresor has a lovely small chateau, pleasant river walk and a good café/restaurant.
Looking for something a little bit different? Museé Dufresne is housed in an old mill and is the work of an accomplished blacksmith. Maurice Dufresne devoted more than 60 years of his life to save an entire part of our past from fading into oblivion. An amazing museum well worth a visit and not quite what you might expect of a museum.
Whether you want to shop in modern Tours or visit historical sites in old Tours, this is the Departmental capital of Indre-et-Loire and should be included on everyone's itinerary.
