Blissful wisteria-clad cottage, boules in the courtyard, swimming pool and grass tennis.
This peaceful cottage is set back from the little road, its pretty old stone walls tucked around with swathes of wisteria, its shutters a Provençal blue.
The views are stunning, it's a haven for wildlife and the top of the hill is brilliant for star-gazing. Step straight into a charming, rustic sitting room with a beamed ceiling, tiled floor, comfortable leather chairs and a wood-burning stove. The bright, sunny kitchen is perfect for a meal but on summer nights you'll be eating outside on the pergola terrace, surrounded by herbs and lavender. The (larger) double bedroom has roof timbers, exposed stone walls and marble-topped tables, perfect for a romantic retreat, the smaller twin room is ideal for youngsters, colourful and comfortable.
You can soak up the sunshine in the walled and flower-trellised garden, play boules in the courtyard – in the summer months pop across the lane for croquet, lawn tennis and a saltwater pool with loungers.
A truly magical place where guests have returned again and again.
Blue and yellow decor, fully equipped with everything you need for cooking and cleaning. It includes a dish washer, washing machine and a long pine table and chairs.
Upon arrival you will have products (eg pasta, sauce, fruit, wine, bread, cheese, milk, eggs, coffee, tea etc.) for one meal and breakfast on your first day.
Includes wood burner, sofa, tv (for videos & dvds), leather armchairs, indoor games, books and local information.
One large double - equipped with wardrobe, linen box, dressing table and side tables, atmospheric lighting. Plus one twin-bedroom, ideal for young adults.
Good size shower and toilet.
Electric radiators in each room, including a wood burner in the living room.
Outdoor swimming pool, grass tennis, badminton and archery (weather permitting), indoor table tennis and a range of board games, videos/dvds and books in the living room.

There are daily outdoor markets within striking distance and weekend brocantes (flea markets) and other outdoor events during the summer. Nearby places of interest include Le Grand Pressigny with its ancient chateau and stunning museum filled with fascinating artefacts, the spa town of La Roche Posay, Descartes (where the philosopher lived), troglodyte caves at Remy-sur-Creuse (where Richard The Lionheart and some French Resistant fighters holed up), the award winning Angles sur L'Anglin and many, many more beautiful villages. This is an area completely unspoilt by tourism yet full of interesting places to visit, including a michelin starred restaurant 10kms away!
In the summer of 2016 my husband, our daughter and I made the bold decision to up sticks and move to France. From the moment we viewed this property, we knew it was the one for us so we made an offer and everything flowed smoothly from there! We moved in on the 1st March this year and although early days we are falling in love with the place a little bit more everyday. We look forward to welcoming you to share this fantastic piece of tranquillity with us.

|Why this location?||We chose this location mainly because of the property itself, however, as keen (wannabe) triathletes we are spoilt for choice for lakes and rivers to swim in and long traffic free roads winding throughout the countryside for running and cycling.
Barrou itself has a small Boulangerie where we get our fresh bread daily and a little further out in Lesigny is a larger patisserie where we can buy yummy cakes. Although situated in rural France we are not too far from plenty of shops and only an hour from the much larger town of Tours.
|Unique benefits of property||The cottage is the only property we rent out, therefore you will not be sharing the pool with any other guests! We also have a Arts / dance studio which you are welcome to use at any time, it is especially lovely for a morning stretch or Pilates routine. If you are after a bit of exercise we would be happy to provide guided bike rides or exercise classes ranging from gentle low impact to a more intense HIIT workout.|
