The property was correctly described and was spacious, clean and well maintained. There are 2 bedrooms but access to the top bedroom would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The garden/outside space was really fab, well fenced on either side which made it really private. It had open views of the river, and was perfect for sitting out in. The owner had a lovely local lady available to help with any issues or advice on the area.

The village of Barrou is a typical small French town, very few people in evidence. We used the boulangerie every day for our bread and had a real value for money meal in the local restaurant "Les Tilleuls". Don't expect a town with a square with lots of cafes and restaurants, but you don't have to travel too far to find this.

The owner was a really lovely man to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble for him.

We would highly recommend it.
