Spacious renovated farmhouse in quiet hamlet 3 km from riverside town of Descartes, which has supermarkets, restaurants and a full range of shops and a Sunday market. About 15 minutes drive from junction 25 on the A10 motorway, about 5.5 hours driving time from Calais.
The house is a family home for most of the year so has a high level of comfort and furnishings including antique furniture, mirrors and pictures. Well maintained garden with covered pool, terraces and plenty of parking space. Shady areas for the fair skinned and plenty of room to tan for those who can.
Thick stone walls make for cool interiors on hot summer days. Floors are mostly tiled and walls whitewashed.
Villa

The wood burning stove in sitting room can be used for atmosphere. The house has gas central heating but this is not needed in summer and will only be available by agreement.
Electric fans are provided in the upstairs bedrooms.
Swimming pool 8 x 4 metres plus steps, ranging from 0.9 to 1.7 metres deep with ledge all the way round at 0.9 metre for the young. Easy to open but secure cover keeps the pool clean and warm (typically 28 to 30° in summer), and provides security for those with children.

Various boardgames.
Enclosed garden with large grassed areas, flower beds, fruit trees and a vegetable patch - help yourselves to any vegetables that are ready for eating.
