|Le Grand Champiau||Self Catering||Saturday||3||6||2||Cots are available|
Le grand Champiau is our larger gîte, with room sizes to match. It can comfortably sleep 6 people in three bedrooms.
It can be booked together with its neighbouring gite (le petit Champiau) to accommodate groups of up to 8. It has a mature garden, in-ground pool and views over neighbouring fields.
The nearest shops are within 5kms (baker, supermarket, fuel etc).
The large, fully-equipped kitchen marries the old with the new, having exposed beams and stone walls, as well as all the mod-cons you would expect. It is equipped with a range-style, wood-burning cooker, separate gas cooker, dishwasher, washing-machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, solid oak dining table, and solid ash work-surfaces.
The rear door from the kitchen leads out onto the private dining terrace (including barbeque) and garden.
Across the hallway is an equally large, comfortable lounge with wood-burning stove and corner games-table and chairs.
It has a supply of books and games for when you just need to unwind.
There is enough comfortable seating for all.
Upstairs there is one double and two twin bedrooms.
One bath/shower room, a shower room, and there is a further wc downstairs off the hall.
Woodburner in the living room, woodburning stove in the kitchen.
Extra warmth for the cooler months is provided by electric wall heaters throughout the gîte.
Hot water is supplied by two gas combination boilers, so plentiful hot water at all times.
There is a selection of books and games (including boules).
There is also a games room with pool table.
Le grand Champiau has a shared mature garden (with Le petit Champiau) which also boasts a swimming-pool (security fenced) and views over the adjoining fields.
There is off-street parking for 4-5 cars.
This property is not suitable for wheelchairs or people with mobility issues. As safety and security are always a concern, the solid wood staircase has child security gates top and bottom.
There are smoke detectors throughout, and a fire blanket is available in the kitchen. Smoking is not allowed inside the property and pets are not accepted.
There is a connecting door to Le petit Champiau (bolted if not booked together).
After living and working in a big city for many years, we felt we needed a change and so made the move to central rural France and a completely different pace of life. Derek is a freelance translator.
