France's skiing facilities are second to none and this selection of properties are perfectly located for access to some of the best. The French Alps offer exciting ski options. Picturesque Chamonix is arguably the best known Alpine ski resort with a total of 76 runs. Or you may prefer Les Deux Alpes which also has excellent skiing, Europe's largest skiable glacier and a good selection of restaurants and bars. In the Savoie, head for Les Trois Vallees - this huge ski area includes seven resorts and is particularly good if you require ski instruction.
Although many visitors are drawn to the glitzy Alpine resorts, don't forget that there's great skiing on the other side of France too - in the Pyrenees. The region of Midi Pyrenees alone has nearly 40 ski resorts and over 1,000km of marked slopes. You'll find a full range of slopes and opportunities for snow shoeing, cross-country and snowboarding too. Lesser known again are the ski resorts of Prat Peyrot, in the Cevennes and Andorra nestled between France and Spain.
